Scrumptious Apple Dessert Cake*
2 cups sugar
1 cup margarine or butter
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
6 apples, grated
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
Mix ingredients and bake in 225 degree oven for 1 hour. Pour topping over cake while still warm.
Topping:
1 cup milk
4 tsp butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp corn starch
Stir until thickened.
