Pecan Sandies

1 cup butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Beat butter for 30 seconds; add granulated sugar and beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and 2 teaspoons water; beat well. Stir in flour and pecans. Shape into 1 inch balls or 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 inch fingers. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 20 minutes. Cool completely. Gently shake a few at a time in a bag with powdered sugar.
